It's hard to believe, but the second Saturday of February is almost upon us, and that means it's once again time for 'Hit the Bricks' in downtown Tyler this Saturday, February 9, from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m.

In addition to the recurring activities, every 'Hit the Bricks' offers a unique twist, depending on the season. One such offering this weekend is 'Junk Hippy.' If you're looking for the coveted home decor in the farmhouse, vintage, or "boho" style, you don't want to miss this.

Other offerings include a family scavenger hunt at the Goodman-LeGrand House, a treasure hunt at Ye Olde City Antique Mall, and The Discovery Science Place will be hosting 'Darwin Day.' If you love history, stop by the "blown egg art exhibit" at Smith County Historical Society, and peruse the history of Smith County while you're there or take the self-guided 'Half Mile of History' walking tour around the square. The Heart of Tyler Exhibit will also be going on at Gallery Main Street.

Of course, the downtown area restaurants are always a delicious destination and I it seems there are more and more to choose from every month.

Plus, with the free parking and the open-air shuttle (weather permitting) provided by Tyler Innovation Pipeline, it's a super convenient way to spend time in one of our downtown communities, eat amazing food and shop from local businesses. See the full schedule of activities, check out the restaurants, and browse more options here.

Hope to see you there. It's really such a fun way to engage with one of our local East Texas communities, hang with friends, and make some memories.
