Two East Texas teams have made it to the state championship finals.

Thursday night at 8, Mineola goes for its very first football title, when the Yellowjackets take on Yoakum in Class 3A Division I action at Arlington's AT&T Stadium.  Mineola has been rolling through the playoffs, romping to a 50-8 win in its semi-final match-up against Wall.

Then on Friday afternoon at 4, Carthage will face off against Abilene Wylie for the Class 4A Division I crown.  The Bulldogs have had to battle to advance in each playoff round so far, needing 3 overtimes to defeat China Spring 26-20 in the semis.  Carthage has made it to the state championship game 4 previous times in school history & never lost.  The Bulldogs hope to grab that 5th title with a win Friday.
