This is not exactly rockin' out with Metallica, but it's great nonetheless. It's Metallica's James Hetfield covering an Adele song with his oldest daughter at a charity event.

It was part of the annual Acoustic-4-A-Cure concert in San Francisco last Friday, and 16-year-old Cali sang Adele's "Crazy for You," while dad James stayed out of the spotlight and backed her up on the acoustic guitar. It was all to help raise funds for children's brain tumor research.

She's good! Maybe one day she'll have a band of her own and she'll cover her dad's old songs.

Metallica formed in 1981, and Cali was born 17 years after that, in 1998, about a year after James and Francesca Hetfield got married.

Cali will be 17 in June, and she's the oldest of three kids, so James has a lot more on his plate than music these days.

He looks like a pretty cool dad. Oh, and still a cool rock star, too.
