Halloween Horror Movie Challenge Week 4: A Sad End to the End of the Month

Today is Halloween, so sadly the Halloween Horror Movie Challenge is coming to an end. Unfortunately this week's picks were very disappointing. The weird and cheesy were in full glory this week. 

It has been a long, weird, creepy, and scary ride through the Halloween Horror Movie Challenge. Tonight will be the end and after this week's films I am ready for it to end. Though I love scary movies, some of these below made me rethink this love.

1. Scary Movie (2000)

Do not watch this movie. I would not wish this on my worst enemy. I know, I know I should have left it unwatched. Oh well, you live and learn.

2. Bug (2006)

This is a great story of how the mind can decay into insanity. Influenced by another's mental state takes a dark and disturbing turn in this flick. I highly recommend this pick for those looking to be scared by the crazy.

3. Dead Girl (2008)

Teenage boys are controlled by hormones, we all know this. But, what we do not expect to see is how far these hormones can make them go. This is a very sick twist of a zombie story. If the acting had not been so hard to swallow, this movie would have been a real teeth clencher.

4. Catacombs (2007)

Staring Pink, this movie was at first glance already a little sketchy. I turned my back on my gut feeling and ruined my night. Being lost in the miles of catacombs below the parisian streets sounds like a great horror movie, but this one was so boring I fell asleep. Pink, please stick to making music.

5. Altered (2006)

Alien movies are hard not to make too cheesy. Altered definitely did not succeed at this goal. If you have a couple of beers, this movie can actually be kind of funny. Hicks hunting aliens is a pretty hilarious concept if you think about it. But, you cannot take this movie seriously.

6. From Dusk Till Dawn (1996)

I cheated. In the Halloween Horror Movie Challenge, every movie has to be a new and never seen pick. After this week's picks, I decided to treat myself to an old favorite. If you have been living under a rock and do not know this movie, you have been missing out. Since most of you have seen the movie, I wont waste time telling you what happens. I bet a lot of the horror movie fans out there can quote this movie almost word for word.

7. The Hole (2001)

This movie is another great display of the human mind gone wrong. When a school girl's crush leads to a dangerous situation, this film's plot begins to unfold. This movie is a great thriller. For your heart to beat faster than normal, watch this creepy tale of desperation.

Only three movies to go folks. I hope they are the best from the whole month. Tonight I hope sets the bar for the next year. I always hope that the final movie of the challenge will actually be scary and get me into the full spirit of the holiday. Check in tomorrow for the final three reviews.
