Water parks are an absolute necessity during the summer months in Texas, but if you live in the lone star state, you know three months of summer hardly represents the heat we have to deal with all year round.

When all of our water parks close in September, we'll have one that opens in November Grand Prairie, Texas. You read that right - a brand new, 80,000 square-foot indoor water park with a retractable roof is scheduled to open its first phase mid-November. According to Dallas Observer. this will be the largest indoor water park with a retractable roof in the country.

The Star-Telegram reports American Resort Management out of Erie, PA will manage park operations at Epic Waters Indoor Waterpark - oh did I mention this place will include an outdoor wave pool, a 4,000 sq foot arcade and last but definitely not least... a full-service bar!

By the way, Grand Prairie is unrolling a handful of big investments to make the city more tourist-friendly with PlayGrand Adventures, a fitness/wellness center, a professional recording studio and more.

This water complex, the Observer indicates, will have nine giants water slides that surround an 85-foot pedestrian tower - you'll be able to see downtown Dallas from it! And to show they mean business, the park has plans to build the tallest indoor aqua-loops slide in the United States, called the Lassoloop.

Keep your swimsuits because water parks won't just be a summer thing anymore.
