You’ve heard about snakes on a boat, snakes on a train and, yes, snakes on a plane, but what about snakes on a Midwest garbage truck?

Last week, a Cincinnati, Ohio garbage collector found an unexpected – and unexplained – behemoth Burmese Python on the roof of his garbage truck after he emptied a bin at a fast-food restaurant.

The garbage collector called for help shortly after discovering the exotic reptile, which measured a whopping six feet in length. When police arrived on the scene, they found the sluggish snake wrapped around a broom.

A deputy carefully lifted the snake into a cardboard box with the broom. Once inside the box, the snake began moving more quickly.

Nobody knows how the python made its way into the trash bin. The snake is now in the custody of animal welfare workers.
