In its biggest design change since unveiling the Timeline in 2011, Facebook announced and unveiled a radically redesigned News Feed today during a special press event. But how will users respond?

The new News Feed, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said, is inspired by mobile technology but the look will be consistent across all devices -- computers, smartphones and tablets.

"The news feed is one of the most important things we've built," Zuckerberg said. "The stories around you deserve to be displayed with more than just text." How we're all sharing is changing and the news feed needs to evolve with those changes. This is the evolving face of news feed."

Facebook's new News Feed is radically more visual, putting a more intense focus on images, videos and interaction through visual elements. Photos are now front and center.

The new News Feed also features multiple feeds, giving users the option to create their own feeds and have more control over what they view and how.

The new look will start rolling out immediately. You can go to Facebook.com/newsfeed to sign up to get the new News Feed when it is available.
