Escape the Fate are working toward a new album, but they’re currently going through the trial and error process before finalizing the record.

In a video interview with Hollywood Wasted TV (5:30 in the video below), singer Craig Mabbitt explained, “I know we want to go back into the studio and do some more tracks, so some will probably get cut off the new one at least, cause there’s some that I do not like, but we’ll cross that bridge when we get to it. We’re going to go back into the studio and record some more songs right after this tour.”

Drummer Robert Ortiz adds, “You know we started with like 50 demos and stuff and then you whittle your way down until these are the 15 or so songs that we want to record and sound great. Some of them miss the mark when you go to record them and some of them don’t work out and right now we have a few that are on that chopping block.”

Attempting to clarify their current recording status, Mabbitt concluded, “We’ve finished recording it but we still want to go in and do some fixes and record some more tracks. Who knows? Some will get cut, some will stay, we’ll figure it out.”

Escape the Fate just finished a South American trek with Underoath, and will now take a break from the road to return to the studio.
