School bells are ringing all over East Texas, signaling the end of summer and the start of a new school year.

With school back in session, those amber school zone lights that have been dormant for the last three months have all been reactivated this morning and will remain active for the next nine months for the 2015-2016 school year.

Those all to familiar lights could lead to some big fines if you don't abide by their flashing warning. Get caught speeding in a school zone and get ready to pay a hefty fine and if you're on a cell phone, well, you could go ahead and get ready to hand over up to an additional $200.

Flashing yellow lights equal school zone. Slow down to posted speed, get off your cell phone and watch out for kids crossing the road because they're not going to be looking out for you.
