East Texas already has a Splash Kingdom Water Park in Canton, and now Nacogdoches is getting one too.

After about two hours of comments at a public hearing this week, the city council in Nacogdoches voted to move forward with plans to build the water park at University and La Nana Creek.  It's a $6 million project that will break ground in October, and should be ready by next June, right about the time bathing suit season begins.

The water park is expected to draw tourists from all over the area, but if you're a Nacogdoches resident you'll get discounts for 15 years.  Nice!

Here's something girls already know, but guys you should note too that bikinis and swim trunks are going on sale right now because the end of the season is near.  So pick up some gear and get ready to hit the pool.  It's tax free weekend too!  Enjoy!
