I hope you strung up the Christmas lights on the outside of the house last weekend, because this will not be the weekend to do it!  Unless you like getting pelted in the face with sleet and ice while you're up there on the ladder.

The National Weather Service says an ice storm warning kicks in tonight at 6pm, and will be with us until 6pm Friday.  We could see a half inch of ice.  Yuck!

When will it end?

It's not often that the weather forecast includes a 100 percent chance of anything, but the National Weather Service says we have a 100 percent chance of freezing rain on Friday.  The precip will start as rain today and tonight, and change to freezing rain sometime Friday, and it won't stop completely until perhaps Sunday.  There will be little breaks here and there, but at least a 40 percent chance of wintry precipitation will be with us through the weekend.

If you don't have a nice big supply of firewood and hot chocolate at the house, you might want to stop and pick some up today.  Drive safely.
