We learned last Friday just how amazing the East Texas All-Star Little League team is, when they scored 12 runs in the bottom of the first inning. Yikes! There was no way Oklahoma was going to overcome a hole that big. The East Texas team, based in Lufkin, won 14-1 at the Southwest Regional Tournament in Waco.

There have been other wins and losses in pool play over the past few days, including a big win Monday night against Colorado. If the team had lost that game, the season would have been over. They beat Colorado that night, and Louisiana yesterday to move to the final round.

This Friday, the East Texas All-Stars will play on National TV in the regional finals, for the chance to go to the Little League World Series.

If you’re not driving to Waco for the game, you can watch the team at 7pm Friday on ESPN2.

If they win that game, they move onto the Little League World Series in Williamsport, and the entire tournament will be on national television. The Little League World Series is where 11 and 12 year old players become noticed by Major League Baseball scouts, not to mention create a pretty memorable summer for themselves.

Good luck guys! You’ve already made East Texas proud, but you might as well keep it going, ya know?
