Dumb Crook of the Week – Man Captured Because He Didn’t Have a Belt

Only in Florida.

Tobias Smith, 24, decided to run from Daytona Beach police Tuesday. During his run, he ran a red light, hit a car, hit a light pole, crashed his car into a barber shop, ran on foot, then was arrested because his pants fell down, causing him to trip and fall according to kvue.com.

You'd think this was a chase from a comedy cop show, but no.

All in all, his mayhem caused a bit of damage. At least $10,000 just for hitting the car. Luckily no one was hurt.

The barber shop he crashed into had customers inside. None of those were injured as well.

Moral of the story - Buy a belt and your get away may be a bit more successful.
