Drowning Pool Accused for Inspiring Tuscon Murderer
Drowning Pool’s song “Bodies” was the “theme song” for this very disturbing video posted by Jared Loughner. Fingers were automatically pointed at Drowning Pool, assuming that their music was at fault for such a sick person. Drowning Pool is devastated.
Listening to Drowning Pool music does not make you a bad person. Misleading people does.
This is a statement they made on their website as part of their response to an arguable article written about the songs “connection” to the Arizona tragedy. Drowing Pool’s music has been misinterpreted before, but this misinterpretation hits a little deeper for the guys in the band.
Bodies’ was written about the brotherhood of the mosh pit and the respect people have for each other in the pit. If you push others down, you have to pick them back up. It was never about violence. It’s about a certain amount of respect and a code.
This was part of their initial response to the partial blame that has been put on them. I think that that this is an all around tragedy, and NO ONE is to blame, but the man that pulled the trigger.
