The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) has information that Ricco Leo Torres, 32, a Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitive, may be in or have ties to the Palestine area.

A $10,000 cash reward is being offered for the capture of Torres.

The Barrio Azteca gang member has a violent criminal past and has been arrested 13 times and charged with 28 offenses since 1997.

Torres, a native of Santa Clara, California, also has relatives and friends living in El Paso. His criminal history includes aggravated assault with deadly weapon, aggravated assault/bodily injury, engaging in organized crime, resisting/evading arrest, unauthorized use of a vehicle, tampering with evidence and drug offenses. He is currently wanted for felony manufacture/delivery of a controlled substance.

Harboring a fugitive can lead to state and/or federal charges, with sentences varying from two to 10 years in prison. Anyone found to have been helping Torres avoid arrest will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
