Downtown Tyler's Hit The Bricks: Holiday Edition

Every second Saturday is Hit the Bricks in downtown Tyler, and next Saturday, December 8, is no exception. 'Tis the season, so you can expect seasonal flair and holiday-oriented fun as downtown businesses and venues come alive—both on and off the square.

December's Hit the Bricks starts at 11 a.m. and continues throughout the day on into the evening. Activities range from your kids meeting Mrs. Claus at The Goodman Museum and making snow in the Tyler Public Library, to the Heart of Tyler's Art Walk and "Deckin' the Halls with Buddy Holly – A Rockin' Blue Christmas” at Liberty Hall.

The “Blue Santa Pub Crawl” is always a featured favorite, with its lit costume pieces, Santa beards, and laid back vibe--especially since all of the proceeds will go to help a child who needs help this season, via the Fraternal Order of Police’s Blue Santa program.

•11 a.m. - 4 p.m. Ride the open-air shuttle around downtown Tyler for FREE sponsored by Tyler Innovation Pipeline

•Noon & 2 p.m. Make Snow in the Tyler Public Library

•1-8 p.m. Innovation Pipeline Open House--Enjoy a holiday pallet making class for $20. Other free crafts are also available

Blue Santa Pub Crawl" benefitting FOPolice Blue Santa Program

•4 - 8 p.m. Downtown Tyler Museums Holiday Open House

•4 - 8 p.m. Opening of Downtown’s Artists and Makers Holiday Market at Gallery Main Street

•4 - 8 p.m. Smith County Historical Society‘s Open House, Grand Opening of the “Blown Art Exhibit”

•4 - 9 p.m. Heart of Tyler's “Art Walk:ing in a Winter Wonderland" starting at 108 S. Broadway

•7 - 9 p.m. "Deck the Halls with Buddy Holly – A Rockin' Blue Christmas" at Liberty Hall

•The self-guided walking tour of the Half Mile of History is an outdoor, half-mile loop around the square that commemorates significant people, places, or events in Tyler.
