Canton Named One Of Texas’ Best

Canton has been noticed by Cities Journal, which ranks cities across the country for being the best in their state.

The Journal is also known to rank the "top cities for starting over," and "top cities with the most Democrats."

So what was Canton honored for?

Canton is one of the Top 15 Small Cities in Texas.

Cities Journal points out the railroad history of Canton, but says more than that now the town is known for First Monday Trade Days.  And don't we love it!  The first weekend in June can't come fast enough for us fans of the flea market find.

Shops Across Texas says First Monday Trade Days is the biggest flea market in the United States, and Canton says it's the biggest in the world.  Regardless, keep the lawn decor and antiques comin'!  First Monday Trade Days helps Canton grow from a few thousand people to over 300,000 during the event, according to Cities Journal.

Nacogdoches landed at number 15 on Cities Journal's list of top small cities in Texas.

East Texas has plenty to discover, and it's kinda cool that other people are noticing.
