Today is one of the biggest travel days of the year, and state police are out in force making sure everyone is buckled up and not drinking and driving.

Be forewarned! Drive safely, don't let the other crazy drivers get to you, and get where you're going safely. And if you're going to get really festive and have a beverage or two because sometimes that makes dealing with relatives easier, have a designated driver!

AAA estimated earlier this week that about 3.4 million Texans will travel during the Thanksgiving holiday period that begins today and runs through Sunday.

Last year, state troopers issued more than 7,500 speeding citations, along with hundreds of other citations for no insurance and seat belt or child safety seat violations.

Buckle up, don't drink and drive, and you'll be just fine. Happy Thanksgiving!
