Just can't wait until Saturday to hear the new EP Bruce Springsteen is releasing for Record Store Day? Here's your chance to enjoy a sneak peek.

NPR is hosting a preview stream of the 'American Beauty' track 'Hurry Up Sundown,' an uptempo rocker that lives up to its title with a set of lyrics anticipating "the end of another working day" and the chance to "pack your blues away." It's the type of song that would sound great blasting out of the speakers of the car pictured on the cover of the EP, and reflects the same roll-up-your-sleeves working-class spirit for which the Boss has long been known.

According to Consequence of Sound, the track's densely layered arrangement -- which includes stacks of sunny, Beach Boys-esque backing vocals -- was performed almost entirely by Springsteen, who handled every instrument with the exception of drums; those duties were handled by in-demand session player Josh Freese, familiar to rock fans through his work with acts like A Perfect Circle, Devo, and Nine Inch Nails.

'American Beauty' serves as a companion piece of sorts to 'High Hopes,' the full-length studio LP Springsteen released in January, and arrives in the midst of the slew of digital downloads being offered from his current tour. All in all, it's an exciting -- albeit poverty-inducing -- time to be a Bruce fan.
