[BREAKING] Shots Fired Near Texas A&M Campus

Reports start coming in around noon today about shots being fired about two blocks away from the Texas A&M campus. Texas A&M Code Maroon Alert System was issued around 12:45pm that informed students and employees that a suspect was in custody, but to avoid the area.

A local television station is reporting that the shots were coming from a nearby house from an automatic weapon. KBTX reports that there are multiple casualties. At least one law enforcement officer was injured.

The suspect has been confirmed in custody and there is no threat to the public at this time.
