Bob Marley Documentary Debuts at SXSW in Austin Next Month

Marley, the first Bob Marley documentary ever to be made with the support of the Bob's family, is scheduled to open on April 20 (naturally), but before it opens nationwide, it will be getting a debut screening at the South by Southwest festival in Austin next month.

The film is being directed by Academy Award-winner Kevin Macdonald, and will feature rare film footage and photos, concert performances and interviews with Marley's friends, family and musical collaborators.  Along with its 4/20 theater release date, Marley also will premiere on video-on-demand and other digital platforms, and then it will eventually will air on VH1 as part of the Rock Doc series.
