As a college student, I know how difficult it is to pay for college. Not only do you have to pay tuition, but you have to pay for everything that comes along with it, like books. College books can be ridiculously expensive if you go through the school book store. I started doing some research to see how I could still get the books, but save as much cash as possible.

First, you want to see if you can’t get your books locally. There are many ways to do this. Ask around your school or your friends and see if someone has the book you need. May as well put it to use instead of it just laying there. Ask around on Facebook and Twitter as well to see what you can find. You can also try your local Craigslist to find students just like you who are looking to get rid of books or find books.

College Books is also one of the best places in Tyler to find books for less. This bookstore is located right off the TJC campus and is full of books at discounted prices. This is one of the most popular places in East Texas for school books at a decent price.

The internet is full of different websites where you can find books for just about anything for a really good deal. Craigslist was mentioned already, so next there’s Ebay. Ebay is the perfect place to sell and buy books online with students all around the country. Every student is looking for a good deal so you can absolutely find some great deals there.

This next option is, in my opinion, one of the greatest things ever invented. It goes by the name of Chegg. Chegg has any and every book you could possibly think of. Chegg not only will buy your books from you, but they allow you to rent your textbooks for the whole semester for about a quarter of the price as buying it. All you do is create an account, find your books, checkout, and they mail them to you. At the end of the semester you just mail them back.

Each of these are really easy ways to save money on school books this upcoming year. As a college student, any money you can save is vital to making your college experience easier.
