Current Guns N’ Roses guitarist Ron “Bumblefoot” Thal is a forgiving man. Days after former GN’R drummer Steven Adler dismissed the current lineup as a bunch of “hacks” during our interview, subsequently issuing an apology via press release, blaming it on emotion, Bumblefoot responded. H
Motorhead frontman/bassist (and badass) Lemmy Kilmister isn’t so much miffed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for virtually ignoring his legendary band and not inducting them into their hallowed halls despite the fact that they’ve been rocking since 1975. He’s got an axe to grind with the powers-that-be over a bigger and more important matter. They lost his ‘Ace of Spades’ tour jacket after he loaned it to them for an exhibit. To quote the kids of ‘South Park,’ those bastards!
We’ve got good news if you’re a patient fan of blood and guts films, and bad news if you’re not. Philip Anselmo, a renowned horror hound who absolutely loves that film genre, will launch his first-ever Housecore Horror Film Festival in Austin, Texas. However, the festival, named after the singer’s label, is scheduled for October 2013.
Lacuna Coil continue to issue personal updates informing fans of what’s going on in their world. The latest came in the form of a two-minute video courtesy of beautiful frontwoman Cristina Scabbia. The lovely singer filmed the clip while getting ready for a gig in Sardinia. She was sequestered in the bathroom while she shared some news about the band’s forthcoming Dark Legacy tour.
On Monday, March 26, it’ll have been 26 years since Guns N’ Roses signed with Geffen Records for a reported advance of $75,000 amid a fierce bidding war with other labels over their talents. The band obviously went on to become legendary and has the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction looming next month. Still, former bassist Duff McKagan looked back at the old days, when the band was scratching and clawing its way to the top.
Everyone in the rock community is talking about the upcoming tour that Motley Crue and Kiss will embark on this summer. Billed simply as ‘The Tour,’ it’s going to be quite a spectacle, since both bands are known for “bringing it” in the live realm and having massive stage set ups. The bands did promise that each will be afforded ample opportunity to deliver two completely different, standalone shows, with Kiss frontman Paul Stanley declaring, “It’s not half-Motley, half-Kiss.” It’s full on for both — separate but equal.
Motley Crue are gearing up for ‘Sex.’ Not that kind of sex, so if your mind is camped out in the gutter, shame on you. It’s the title of the band’s newest single, which bassist Nikki Sixx insists sounds like classic Crue.
If the news that Motley Crue and Kiss are planning to embark on a tour this summer pretty much made your life when we reported it earlier this week, then more good news appears to be coming your way. Both bands have posted tickers at the top of their respective homepages, presumably counting down the days, hours and minutes until they announce more details about what will surely be an epic co-headlining trek.
We already knew that Slash was working on a song with ex-Guns N’ Roses drummer Steven Adler, since he tweeted about the collaboration the other night. Now, full details about Adler’s new project have surfaced. The skins smasher’s new project is simply named Adler and the power trio features the drummer alongside singer Jacob Bunton (Lynam, Mars Electric) and guitarist Lonny Paul (Adler’s Appetite).
