The 2012 NJCAA Division 3 Baseball World Series is coming to Tyler's Mike Carter Field. The series will take place this Saturday through next Thursday (May 19-24) and will feature eight teams playing for the national championship, including our own Tyler Junior College Apaches. These teams include:

  • Northern Essex Community College
  • Joliet Junior College
  • Gloucester Country College
  • Montgomery College-Germantown
  • Nassau Community College
  • Tyler Junior College
  • Niagara County Community College
  • St. Cloud Community College

The tournament is double-elimination and the national semifinal contest is slated for Monday, followed by the consolation game on Tuesday. The first national championship game will be played Wednesday. The second national title game (if necessary) will be played next Thursday.

The TJC Apaches (36-18), the 2010 World Series champions, defeated Richland College last Sunday in the District C Finals at Mike Carter Field to advance to the World Series.

As a part of the World Series, there is a free kids clinic tonight (May 17) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. with players and coaches from the qualifying teams. Bring your future Josh Hamiltons out to get some expert coaching from these talented coaches and players!
